First I find out there's a Star Trek convention on my birthday, complete with a Klingon feast ON my b-day WITH worf and others. In costume. And guess who doesn't have funds to go!
Then I pull my arm funny and oh its prolly gonna hurt for awhile.
Then I get a call saying my granny's friends' son died.
He died training for the special olympics, I know forget what he had but he's been in a wheelchair for a long time and the condition was slowly eating away his body - losing more parts of the leg and spine he had left. But - you know - with all that goin' on he taught children and loved to volunteer and summer camps and such, even with his limited mobility. He was a really cool guy. I believe he died doing what he loved, and he lived a damn full life one that he loved and did so much with.
So here's to John and his family.
